– The Chofetz Chaim

Since 1989, the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation has successfully launched innovative methods of promoting the Torah's wisdom on human relations and personal development. The foundation utilizes a vast array of effective communication tools including books, tapes, video seminars, telephone classes and a newsletter, designed to heighten one's awareness of such essential values as judging others favorably, speaking with restraint and integrity, and acting with sensitivity and respect. The Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation's programs reassert the Torah's timeless recipe for building a world of compassion and harmony. The following opportunities for learning and personal growth are available through our offices.

Chofetz Chaim: A Lesson A Day and Chofetz Chaim: A Daily Companion can be used to participate in Shmiras Haloshon Yomi. Learning the laws of proper speech every day, in small portions, is the method that the Chofetz Chaim recommended for observing this crucial mitzvah. The Torah tells us that Shmiras Haloshon is a limitless source of blessing for ourselves, an essential element in our prayers being accepted, and the most effective way to merit Hashem's mercy.

Machsom L'fi

While Shmiras Haloshon is a requirement every day and at all times, focusing specifically on this mitzvah for a set period each day is a proven way to bolster your overall observance. Those who undertake a Machsom L'fi, commit themselves, in conjunction with others, to avoid speaking or hearing loshon hora during a two- hour period each day. This can be done as a powerful merit for someone who is ill, or for anyone that needs Divine mercy. Our office has everything needed to start a Machsom L'fi.
